Mr. Lim Chor Ghee, a senior advisor of ADK Lawyers, participated in the International Forum on Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Development of Green Mountains, where over 200 delegates—including 12 international representatives from ASEAN—gathered to drive Southeast Asia’s sustainable energy future. This Forum is held from 10 to 15 July 2025 in Chengdu and Chongqing, China.

Panel discussions and expert sessions showcased innovations in clean energy technology and digital energy systems.

  • Green Finance & Investment

Delegates emphasized financing and policy alignment as key challenges to ASEAN’s green transition.

  • Regional Collaboration

ASEAN and China delegates emphasised deeper cooperation to facilitate cross-border green initiatives as the Belt and Road Initiative shifts from hard infrastructure to climate-smart collaboration.

  • Enterprise Visits

Delegates toured Chongqing’s sustainability champions – Sanfeng Environment, New Century Electric, and HaiRun Energy – to witness cutting-edge eco-technology in action.

ASEAN–China Collaboration

Participants from Vietnam and Thailand underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with China under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to accelerate clean energy adoption and climate resilience across the region, to accelerate clean energy development and low-carbon transitions.

Results from the Forum

The Forum concluded with the announcement of 15 preliminary international cooperation agreements, covering solar power investments, exchange programs on clean energy knowledge and legal frameworks, training, and capacity-building in sustainable development.
